I can see both your point, and Stoneys. And, as a Metro Spirit employee who knows Toms fastidiousness (??) fastidity (??) when it comes to getting all the facts, I see his point, too. It is such a difficult situation to see clearly. I just hope that it is resolved in such a manner that Augusta isnt the bastard child that we usually are. I am from Atlanta, and know what good can come from a well-run event.

And I am writing without apostrophes because my keyboard seems to have misplaced them, dammit!

well, i know that in the past, i've agreed with Tom's stance and the stance of the Spirit in general more often than not.......but i just don't get this......in my view, Mr. Walker has no business organizing a music festival of the magnitude deserved by James Brown if it is to be a proper tribute........for the exact same reasons i didn't vote for him for mayor.......i just don't think the man has the brainpower required for the job.......last year was a joke......i mean for pete's sake, threatening to sue James Brown?.....WTF?.........Champ is an idiot.........

I can't speak for Champ's brainpower, but if no one else is stepping up to the plate, maybe it's good that he's at least giving it a shot. Mr Brown should be celebrated. (I never cared much for the size or placement of the statue. I thought it should have been bigger and in a more prominent place.)

What I can't figure out is why the Tom finds the demographic makeup (teachers, preachers and businessmen) so impressive. I've known people from all three groups who were blooming idiots. I'm with Stak on the idea that a festival should be planned by people who understand music festivals.
